Project Details for Commissioned Paintings
Commissioned paintings have been an important part of my studio work for several years. Often the paintings are for site specific locations in residential or corporate settings.
This is how I proceed with commission painting projects:
Whether you are a gallery dealer, art consultant, art advisor or individual please contact me through www.conleyharrisart.com stating your interests.
I need to know the character of subject matter and size requirements. In emails the subject matter can be carefully explored and decided. I can then provide a small watercolor study to proportional scale for the client's final approval. This study will either be mailed or sent as a .jpg via email for approval. Once the subject and scale has been signed off on, the painting is usually ready for delivery in six weeks. The stretched painting can be crated and shipped. Or, the painting can be unstretched, rolled up and then shipped in a heavy weight shipping tube. The client would then approach a reputable picture framer to have the canvas stretched and framed. The client is responsible for all related shipping and insurance costs. My past commissioned painting projects have ranged in size from 30 x 30" ($6,000) to 48 x 180" ($36,000). A non-refundable payment of one half of the final retail cost is due before work commences.
Commissioned painting examples from both residential and corporate clients. Contact me for more examples.
